Frome Town has had a ladies team since 1980 and was one of the oldest members of the South West Women's League, until gaining promotion to the South West Combination Women's League for the 2006/07 season.

Frome have enjoyed success over the years. Four times they have been Runners-Up in the league cup final (The "Pat Sowden Memorial Trophy"). In season 1989/90 they were Runners-Up in the South West Premier Division, and in 1995/96 were Division One Champions.

In 2002/03 Frome won promotion back to the Premier Division after a few years absence and in this same season won their first ever cup final versus Cheltenham Saracens in the Bristol Soccerworld Cup.

Season 2005/06 was the most successful in recent years. The First Team winning promotion to the South West Combination Women's League, finishing Runners-Up in the Somerset County Cup and reaching the 4th Round of The FA Women's Cup. In the same season, the Reserve Team finished Runners-Up in the Somerset County Women's League and also in the Somerset League Cup.

Frome Town Ladies Reserves play in the Somerset County League, with the Under 15's & Under 13's competing in the Somerset Girls League.

The Club now has over 60 registered players throughout the various teams and with FA qualified coaching staff at both senior and junior level and with a dedicated committee in place, the Club is now in a position to take the next step forward.

Frome Town Ladies, with the assistance of Somerset FA, have gained Charter Standard Development status, which will encourage girls and ladies to compete at a higher level for the benefit of the town and local community. We already have a number of players who attend the Somerset Centre of Excellence in Taunton.

The Club train every Wednesday on the Astroturf at the Sports Centre between 8pm and 9pm and we would welcome any girls to come along and talk to us.

Season 2006/07 saw a link-up between Frome Town and Frome Town Ladies officially announced, along with Frome Town Sports, and the Frome Football Partnership was launched in order to develop young players for the benfit of the town.
