The Robins started the season in optimistic fashion after agreeing the Club's biggest ever sponsorship agreement in a three year deal  Mirage Signs.

The build-up to the new season saw Andy Crabtree dip into the transfer market with the signings of right back Graham Mills from Team Bath, midfielder Alex Lapham from Bath City, winger Gavin Eyre from Salisbury City, young goalkeeper Scott Armstrong and local youngster Jack Metcalf.

However, the first signing was actually off the field with the experienced Derek Graham joining the Club as the First Team Assistant Manager.

Pre-season saw the team retain the Longwell Green 6's title after beating Yate Town 4-0 in the final and then warm-up games saw matches against Bradford Town (2-0), Taunton Town (0-1), Carterton (1-2), Cadbury Heath (0-2), Brockenhurst (2-0) and Paulton Rovers (9-2).

Before the season got underway goalkeeper Armstrong was already on his way as he was snapped up by Bristol Rovers on a years contract.

Eyre gave Frome the perfect start to the league season as he scored the winning goal on his debut away at Bristol Manor Farm to see the side come from a goal down to win 2-1 on the opening day of the campaign.

An early 1-0 win over reigning league champions Bideford pushed Frome towards the top of the table before Melksham Town inflicted Frome's first defeat of the season with a 2-1 win at Badgers Hill.

One of the best games of the season saw a memorable fight-back for the Robins in early September as they trailed 2-1 at Brislington with just ten minutes left. By the time the final whistle was blown Crabtree's side left with a fantastic 5-2 victory.

Striker Sam Duggan was the next new arrival at the Club having signed from Taunton Town and he made a substitute appearance in the team's 2-1 win at Dawlish Town in the FA Vase.

Truro City were the visitors in the opening round of the Les Phillips Cup and the Robins overcame the expensively put together Cornish side with a 4-3 win at The Hill.

A 3-1 win at Wessex League side Poole Town saw Frome win in the next round of the FA Vase while the league campaign carried on in positive fashion as the team continued to challenge the leaders.

Football was certainly a secondary thought in Frome's 1-0 defeat at Devizes Town after midfielder Joe Gomes sustained a serious knee injury that then kept him out for the rest of the season. With Lapham also missing through illness the Robins just lost their way slightly but a 1-0 win to complete the double over Bideford lifted the mood around the Club.

The FA Vase involvement ended in disappointing fashion in November with a 1-0 defeat at Lymington Town and then a weakened side were dumped out of the Somerset Premier Cup at the first hurdle in a 2-1 home loss to Larkhall Athletic. The Les Phillips Cup though continued to be a realistic chance of silverware for the Club as the Robins thrashed Barnstaple Town 6-1 in North-Devon.

Further arrivals had seen the signing of Steve Bridges from Paulton Rovers and the return of three players in Matt Peters (Street), Lee Davidson (Odd Down) and Ray Johnston (Clevedon Town). However, striker Matt Cooper left Badgers Hill to join Southern League Premier Division side Team Bath while Mark Salter was the subject of approaches from several higher clubs which he rejected.

Boxing Day saw a 1-0 local derby win at Radstock Town and early in the New Year Mills left for pastures new as he moved to a new side closer to his Southampton home.

Frome Town Ladies had made it to the last 32 in the FA Women's Cup after beating league rivals Newquay 1-0 but eventually were knocked out after a 7-3 defeat at the hands of Nottingham Forest.

A poor display in the LPC saw Frome left with just the league to concentrate on as Melksham picked up a 2-1 win at The Hill that proved to be Johnston's last game in goal for the Club as he moved to Gloucester City. His place was taken by Bristol Manor Farm's Richard Fey and he was also joined by a return to the Club of striker Dean Griffiths from Bitton.

Going into March the Robins still had a great chance of claiming the league title as they went head-to-head with Bridgewater Town and Corsham Town but a 0-0 draw at home to Odd Down (Bath) and a 1-0 defeat at Hallen didn't help.

Bank Holiday Monday saw a 3-2 home win over Radstock followed by a 6-1 hammering of Keynsham Town. The Radstock game saw Mark Salter complete his 300th appearance for the Club and after helping himself to a hat-trick against Keynsham he brought up his 200th goal.

Defeat at Odd Down (Bath) in the last minute (2-3) ended the Robins title challenge but wins against Chard Town (2-0), Torrington (3-2) and Willand Rovers (1-0) meant Frome finished third behind champions Corsham and runners-up Bridgwater.
