The Batch Calculator
The operator only needs to know the following information in order to accurately produce the exact amount of a finished
product at the required Fat% and Total Solids %
1) What type of Finished Product is required?
2) What Fat % Cream is being used?
3) What is the Total Solids % of the Concentrate being used?
4) How many
kgs of the end product is required?
That's it!!
The system now immediately calculates the litres of Finished Product that will be produced to give the kgs required (and hence the density), and also the litres of each
of the Base Products that will be required to make the final batch.
The Batch Calculator also has an inbuilt integrity check. When the equations are being solved, if any of the ingredient quantitities are computed to be less than zero, then this is an indication that the product cannot be made using the
ingredients specified. (For example, trying to make a high fat % product using a low fat % ingredient.)
In this case, a flashing Batch Impossible symbol warns the operator that the batch cannot be made, and the system will refuse to
allow the values to be moved to Batch1 or Batch2
